Before working at NBKC, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
The most unusual job I’ve had was actually growing up working on my family farm. I learned a lot about hard work and ethics, every day was a new adventure!

I was in Mortgage Banking years ago so very familiar with the process, how rates/fees work, as well as very aware there are many unscrupulous lenders and agents out there. Decided to check programs/rates through Costco knowing that to be one of their preferred companies they would have to be reputable. Input my basic info there online. Jordan was one of the first to respond. Very conversational, no pressure, which I appreciated. Over the next few weeks checked a few other lenders. Came back to Jordan when ready to begin loan process. His rates and fees best and lowest by far. Locked in rate for 60 days to accommodate a specific time we could not close prior to. Very smooth process throughout, with no surprises whatsoever. Closed on time at rate and costs estimated and locked into on the front end. Highly recommend Jordan. Trustworthy, honest and helpful, as well as keeping me informed of progress throughout. Must have something to do with all that corn them Mid-west boys consume..... :)

Mr. Schauf was extremely professional and patient as he helped my spouse and I pursue a refinance. He was persistent in what I would describe a caring demeanor, but never pushy...and he had every opportunity to be as I was not the most proactive in providing requested documentation. Ultimately, the loan process was left incomplete, not on account of Mr Schauf or NBKC, but rather becaue the required VA fee made a refinance unfeasible for what we were trying to accomplish in regards to a home repair. True to character, Mr Schauf was very gracious when I informed him of the conclusion my wife and I had arrived at. If we find ourselves again in search of a home loan, we will seek Mr. Schauf out without hesitation.

Get to know Jordan
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Garden Plain, a small town of about 1000 people outside of Wichita, KS.
What is your motto or personal mantra?
Go for it. No matter how it ends, it was an experience!
What is something that people would be surprised if they knew about you?
I grew up farming and working with cattle at a very young age. We also owned a dairy farm so I basically did everything from milking cows to driving tractors and wheat trucks from the age of about 9 on.
What aspect of your job are you most passionate about?
I really enjoy helping people meet their financial goals. Whether it is buying your first home, upgrading your existing home, or refinancing your current home, the goal for every loan is to put the borrower in a better position than before we met!
What’s your advice for new home buyers?
Buying a new home can be stressful. Work with your Loan Officer to find the best loan that meets your home ownership goals. Ask questions and listen, together we can close your loan quickly and painlessly!
Any sports or specific teams you’re a fan of?
Living in Kansas City obviously draws you toward the local teams, the Royals and the Chiefs. However, from a young age I have always been a Yankees and Jets fan!
What is on your bucket list?
I’ve always wanted to go sky diving.
What are some of your hobbies?
I love all sports; basketball, football, golf etc. I am also a big outdoorsman, I like hunting, fishing and being outdoors in general.
