I am not someone who normally searches for BIG things online, like a lender! It was a little over a month ago out of desperation when my local bank processed my loan and everything was a GO then, the underwriter which were not local treated our application as if we were begging, not borrowing from them. What an agonizing process... this should be one of the happiest times of your life not the stress of white knuckling it. I was on Zillow reading comments about NBKC when the curser began moving across my screen asking if I wanted to chat??? What you got to be kidding me, right? We just closed on a home in VA and we had been shopping for loans and talking with several companies both local and from reviews/referrals. A local lender was highly recommended by our real estate agent because the home was a short sale and we knew we might have to close the loan quickly if and when the offer was accepted. I found NBKC through Zillow with no prior knowledge of NBKC. My loan officer was Kirby Hinton and I found him to be both knowledgeable and attentive to my desires concerning possible refinancing. Having had a bad experience with a previous lender I was skeptical at first. It was particularly encouraging to learn that I could lock the rate but take advantage of a one-time re-lock in the event rates dropped prior to closing! Kirby was diligent to follow up on needed documents, timetables, etc. to assure excellent service. We were very impressed with the service and grateful for the opportunity to lower our payment several hundred dollars per month!
